Testing of high-voltage equipment
Regular monitoring of insulation condition is essential for the long-term smooth operation of the high-voltage equipment.
In particular, the measurement of capacitance and dissipation factor allows to determine insulation condition in the high-voltage bushing or between the windings of transformers. For example, changing of capacitance value may indicate mechanical displacement of windings or insulation damage of high-voltage bushings, while increasing dissipation factor points to insulation aging, moisture ingress or to the presence of partial discharges.
